It is a website where you can upload your media (photos, videos, music) and create mashups (called moovies) quickly and easily. The online multimedia studio is at the heart of this service. You can then send your moovie by email or mobile, download it or publish to webpages, blogs, video sharing sites etc! You can also remix your moovies yourself, or let others remix it too. This can be fun and can generate buzz for you! Mixmoov is not a video sharing site (like Youtube or Dailymotion). Your uploaded media is visible only to you and you also have the choice to make the moovies you create public or not.
The "my media" section in your Mixmoov account lets you manage your media (upload, view, tag, delete etc).
The Mixmoov studio lets you use your media to create moovies by adding effects, transitions, text and performing other modifications. You do not have to be a professional to use our intuitive interface!
A moovie can be remixed any number of times. So go ahead, create and re-create at will!
The share feature lets you publish and promote your moovies - download them, send by mail and mobile, publish to blogs, websites, facebook, youtube etc…show the world your work! (or just keep it for you, the choice is yours!)
The upload section lets you uplaod your media (photos, videos, music) from your computer to Mixmoov. More, in the studio you can record a video yourself with a webcam, microphone and also import videos from Youtube and Dailymotion as well as images from Flickr and Picasa.

It is entirely your choice..and the possibilities are virtually endless! Create a music video, a moovie of your vacation pictures, family functions or a party with friends with lot of effects and text, or even your own Web TV on your blog! Mixmoov provides you the utilities, so that you can concentrate on the essential - your media and your creatitity.

Just click on the "Sign up!" link on the home page and fill up the registration form. You will receive an email shortly with a link and you have to click the link to activate your account. It's quick and easy, and signing up is free!
PS: If you do not find the email from Mixmoov, please look in the junk/spam folders as some webmail services might place it there.

No. We do not spam or sell your contact information to others. Also, you can set your account preferences to allow or deny reception of emails from Mixmoov and its partners.

You can use Mixmoov for free (the basic account). If you like what you see, and want more then there is a VIP account coming soon with attractive pricing and features. However, be sure that the basic access to Mixmoov will always be free!

We constantly try to make the best technology available to you, and also to see that you can use Mixmoov  on all common platforms. You can normally access and use Mixmoov from a Windows/Mac computer with a browser and an Internet connection. Mixmoov is an online media studio which is simple, intuitive and feature-rich. You can use it from any computer (PC/Mac) that has an Internet connection and create your own moovies (mashups of audio, video and images with lot of effects added) and share them. Upload and store your media and create and remix your moovies from wherever you are : at home, on vacation or even from your mobile phone! (coming soon)

Anyone can create an account and use Mixmoov for personal purposes - the site is open to the public. However, using the service for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. If you are a company, group or organisation and you wish to use Mixmoov in a business or professional setting, please contact us (by clicking on the "Contact" link at the bottom of any page on the site).

The advertisements are necessary for basic accounts to be able to keep them free. At the same time, we have tried our best to avoid the advertisements coming in way of your regular use of the site by placing them carefully. However, you will soon have the possibilty of having ad-free, feature-rich VIP accounts for a nominal fee.

Mixmoov is developed by INTUITIVLAB S.A.S, a French company which has offices in Aix en Provence, Toulouse and Paris. Intuitivlab has won many prizes for innovation from the French government. The technology behind Mixmoov is protected by copyright and is being evolved by continuous research and development. For example, there is a professional version of Mixmoov called Intuitivlab studio which allows for much more interactivity and flexibility in creating multimedia mashups.

It comes from the two words "movie" (film) and "move". True to this name,  Mixmoov lets you mix different types of media to create a mini film and then share it ("move" it around the web, mobile etc).

The main difference is that you can include videos (as well as pictures, music, effects and transitions) in a moovie. You can also remix a Moovie by adding or removing media, including videos. However, you see a Movie and a video in the same format - that of a video.

Do it in one click! After login, click on the "Create" tab and you will be in the studio, ready to create your moovie.

Mixmoov is a free service for "basic" accounts. The logo in the moovies generated using Mixmoov serves to spread the word about the site. Thank you for using it and generating buzz!

Once you are in the studio (by clicking on "Create" after login), select the name of the moovie you wish to edit, and click "OPEN" in the dialog box. Or from the "My moovies" page in the site, you can click on the thumbnail of the moovie and click on the "REMIX" button in the page that opens.

From the studio, after editing the moovie click "PUBLISH" and you will be taken to a page with all the export options (email, blogs, download, video portals, mobile, social networks). You can also click on the thumbnail of the moovie in the "My moovies" section after login and this will take you to the same page.

We advise respecting copyrights and privacy in choosing the media you use to create moovies. Please do make sure that you do not upload/use pirated/copyright protected media.

In the basic, free account you can create a moovie of maximum 5 minutes. A VIP account which lets you create longer moovies with more features is coming soon.

Mixmoov supports most common file formats for uploading your videos (mpg,.mp4,.mov,.flv,.avi,.wmv), photos (.jpg,.bmp,.png,.gif,.tiff) and music (.mp3,.wav). In case you face any problems in uploading these supported types, do let us know the type of media and file format (by clicking on the "Report a bug" link at the bottom of any page on the site). Support for more file formats is in the works!

The basic, free account in Mixmoov has a storage space of 1GB (which means you can store a total of 1GB of media)

Since Mixmoov is not a file storage site, it is always advisable to keep a local copy of your files and not make Mixmoov the primary storage. Mixmoov always backs up your files, but it is important to note that they cannot be downloaded back again in their original upload format. Only moovies which are created using the media, can be downloaded from Mixmoov.

The basic, free account allows uploading files of a maximum size of 30MB.

You can upload a maximum of 10 media files at a time. This is subject to a limit of 30MB per file and a total of 100MB (all files included).

You can get a glimpse of your account information in this page like the storage space used, your account status and newest moovies created. You can also access all other parts of the site from this page, from the top bar and the sidebar.

This page is where you can find all your uploaded media and  your moovies (you can also reach here by clicking on "My media" in the sidebar after login). From here, you can delete the files, click on the thumbnails to view the details as well as modify tags and descriptions.

Just click on the "My account" link under the title "My profile" in the sidebar and here you can edit your personal information. Also use the two other links "My contacts" and "My options" to manage your contacts, blog and video portal accounts.

Click on the "Invite" link In the top bar, enter your friends' emails, choose a moovie you created to show them and send your invitation. Your friends can then discover Mixmoov!

Click on the "My account" link in the sidebar under the title "My profile" and click on the “Close my account” link in this page - here you can close your account after filling in the details.
Note: All your moovies, media and account information will be permanently deleted from Mixmoov, if you choose to close your account!

You have either selected the option "Remember me" on the site or allowed your browser to store your password for easy access later. If you do not want this enabled, you can undo these settings yourself.

Verify that you have not typed your username or password wrongly. If they are correct and the problem persists, please alert us (by clicking on the "Contact" link at the bottom of any page on the site). Also accounts that have not been used for more than a year are deleted for security reasons. If this is the case, please create a new account for yourself.

You will be logged out of your account if you are inactive on the site for more than 30 minutes at a time. However, this could also happen because of a problem in the Internet connection or other issues related to your computer or the network. However, please save your moovie creation every once in a while so that you are able to start from where you left off. However, even if you are disconnected, none of your media or your account information will be lost.

No problem - you can get your password from the email that was sent to you at the time of account creation. If not, you can click on the "Forgot my password" link and follow the instructions to get a new password.

Yes, you can click on "My account" under the title "My profile" in the sidebar to modify your password, email address and other personal information.

No, this is not allowed for reasons related to security and account management. You can change all the properties of the account except the username.

This could be because your browser blocks pop-ups by default. You may have to change your browser settings to allow pop-ups from the Mixmoov.com website.

Yes, you will have to have flash installed in your browser. However, chances are that you already have it as more than 90% of browsers have flash installed in them. If this is not the case, Mixmoov will alert you and suggest the download - accept this and you will be able to install flash safely, from the official site.

We have developed Mixmoov to work on all the major browser platforms. And, we have tested and verified that Mixmoov works fine on Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3 and Safari 3 browsers both on Windows and Mac. If you have trouble in viewing the site in your browser, do try to use one of these verified versions and also check that you have the latest version of Flash installed. If you still have problems, kindly let us know by clicking on the "Report a bug" link at the bottom of any page on the site.

This can be because you have not cleared the "cache" (temporary storage) of your browser and so it is serving you the old page from its storage. Do look up the help on your browser to clear the cache, then re-open the site and you will be able to see the new version.
